I have a special system installed on my old Jeep. It trickles oil down the driveshafts which then 'sprays' and coats all components on the underside.

LOL! That being said Ralph Wade said they always use to use old motor oil sprayed on everything underneath that didn't get hot. I have used linseed oil etc on my Suburban. It worked great but you couldn't get it in the holes in t he wheel wells or inside the doors so the body started to rust out. On my 2016 Tundra I bought the undercoat package from C&S plating. I sort of pamper it. Last week was the first time I had it in four wheel drive and the first time I got in with wet salty fishing shorts. I am sort of regretting sitting in it with wet shorts as I don't have the high dollar neoprene seat covers yet. Darn surf trout made me do it! _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

I own Ralph Wade's old Tundra. Got some weird electrical problems going on at the moment, but the underside is just fine. Looks like it had the standard black rubbery underbody stuff followed up by liberal doses of linseed oil, which I keep applying with a paint sprayer and air compressor periodically. It has held up surprisingly well. _________________

It's a Toyota, so it already has way better coating than any American ride...... because Japan is just a big island surrounded by a true marine environment! _________________ Dave

Tyler, check this out for a much cheaper alternative; I picked up a couple the other day after doing some research, and I'm fairly happy with them...

$34 bucks for neoprene, and they stay where they're put on my seats...super simple to put on, and you can take them off when you don't need them, and they roll up small and have little straps to stow them...

| Do the neoprene type allow air to flow or do they trap moisture like vinyl and make your back and butt all sweaty? |

yes, the sweaty butt...that's the reason I like these, as I can very easily take them off and not use them unless I'm on the beach and sopping wet...I don't leave them on all the time, especially in the summer...

Hah! You know I cant remember if I ended up with that or not. If I did, it managed to walk off over the last few years. Got the makeshift mud flaps screwed on with self tapping sheet metal screws though. And the roof mounted paper towell holder in the camper. And a slim jim for opening vehicles. Not sure what old Ralph was doing with that one.
To the guy asking about sweaty butts - I had wetsuit type covers from Wet Oakle or something like that in my previous beach truck (Tacoma), which was also my daily driver for a while. I never had any ventilation problems. They are high dollar but I would buy them again. Fit like a glove. _________________
