Current conditions on the Yarborough Pass Road, which provides access to the bay side camping and public use area, may cause vehicle damage and resources adjacent to the road are being heavily impacted by off road travel.
In the interest of safety and resource preservation the National Park Service is closing Yarborough Pass Road until further notice. Specific dates for reopening are unknown at this time. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

| 2 weeks ago I helped pull a guy out of there. The sand is very loose and very deep as you get farther from the water. The more people tear it up, the worse it gets. The guy that was stuck was in a chevy silverado, no lift. he was sunk down to his bumpers, didn't even get to where you drive uphill over the dune. |

The way I read that tells me there is a big chance of them never reopening that.
I called the visitor center to get more info. The response was not very positive on it reopening. It was suggested that everyone that is concerned stop by and fill out a comment card. I was told that the Superintendent reads all comment cards. |
