| On a side note: Awhile back we were coming back up Wilsons Cut after fishing the back lakes and there was a kayaker fishing right there in the cut. Did slow down but had no choice but 'cut him off'. He gave us the 'really dude?' look. |

yeah, and see there's that....I've been running up into deadmans on a low water day, and there were some people fishing in the "channel"....I had to tip-toe around them, jackplate had the lower unit almost out of the water, and get right back in the "channel"....they gave me the "you're a Richard" hands above their heads gesture, and got really mad...
you can't stop in that "channel", or you're putting for almost a mile to get up cleanly...it's a one way trip between the ICWW and deadmans...and they were playing right in the middle of the road....they just didn't know any better...
on the way out after about a half hour, they were gone...I could hear the vroom! vroom! and spit! as they tried and tried to get on plane with the motor at 6,000rpm....the channel was completely trashed all the way out to the ICWW....so, at least they dredged it for us and I'll bet that their water pump needed to be replaced immediately....
can't fix stupid....

Can't fix stupid. To true. I remember years ago hearing the boats flying into Baffin at the crack of dawn. WAAAAAAAAAA then suddenly silence. They were looking for those fossilized worm mounds and found one. _________________ Live like you're dying |

| had a old guy on a yellow beach cruiser bike the other day grab my wifes line while we had lines in the surf and poles in pvc at the water break, he grabbed her line and took off on his bike with it after telling me i had no right to fish on the beach that its a public beach and i could kill someone with it. I promptly called the game warden. Wish i had one of my rods out of the water I would of slung a 4oz at him as he rode away. He stripped 100yards+ of 15ibs line and lost her leader, hook and weight not to mention the 100yards of line in the water. If my son wasnt with us old man would of had some real issues. |

Baffin was crazy on Saturday. I woke up to steady stream of Roostertails buzzing by my cabin thru Compuerta Pass. Its amazing how fast some of those go-fast boats will run. One of them started wobbling pretty good when it did a last second maneuver to avoid hitting a drifter....
Incredible amount of boats on the water. All the rocks were covered up with waders and boats. I didn't see anyone catch a single legal fish all morning. Friday before dark was pretty good for me, and I did manage to catch a few more fish on the way back in the afternoon. |

There is a certain Century 21 agent I hope to meet again one day, I have his boat and truck memorized.
Came close enough to my boat after cutting across my stern and destroying both of my trolling lines that I could touch his hull with a rod tip.
He beat me back to Packery ramp but I got a good look at the real estate logo on his truck as he blasted out of the parking lot.
I hope all that braid chewed his lower unit into confetti. |

| While anchored on Yarbrough Flat and 30 yards out of the boat on my wade fishing solo Mr. D-Bag shows up in his brand new, D-Bag-go-fast, cat hull boat with his D-Bag buddy riding shotgun runs full throttle right between me and my boat. No other boats or obstacles around, just a whole lot of open water. [head slap] |

haven't spent nearly as much time on the water as some of the others on this board. I try to learn as much as I can from reading, videos and watching others on the water.
Just yesterday I got my first drift sock in the mail for my boat so I am new to drifting, hoping to get out and try my luck this weekend.
Any tips on techniques and areas of the upper laguna where i can try out some drifting? _________________ Life ain't right...until your fishing!!!

So as not to hijack this thread, start a new one with your question. It will be easier to follow and if it turns out good, it may become a sticky. _________________
