Wasn't going to go to the surf today but the winds were down at about 8:30 at look online at the Bob Hall pier caand saw the water was pretty. Got a later start than usual by a bunch and went to my usual spot South Bob Hall. Had shrimp and fish bites on one pole and cut whiting and cut mullet on two others. The poles with cut bait got nothing but on shrimp and fish bites I got a 28 inch red, 25 inch drum, 20 inch whiting, and a 19" Pompano. Also got numerous smaller Whiting. Kept one Pompano and the big Whiting for dinner. Came back and my wife was still in town spending money so I thought I'd waste some gas and head out in the boat. My two minute honey was occupied so I went to the 3-minute hole. Wound up catching a limited trout. But the surprise of the day was a 38 inch jack crevalle. First I thought it was a big red and then I get it in and it hit my Tequila Gold Sand eel. After releasing it I thought damn I should have offered it to some of the shark fish man but oh well. Great day on the water

Thanks for the report. Bet that jackfish did get your attention, they're fast. Good show getting it in.

What a great day of fishing. That Jack on light tackle must have been quite a fight. And best of all, yesterday was a beautiful day to be out there.
