Ok. I won't use the F word. Looking for restaurant recommendations for my gf and I. Seafood or chicken. We know of the chains around here. Just looking for something good and different.
Thanks,
Mike

La Jaba, or in english means The Crab. It's located at 5922 S. Staples, and is primarily a seafood restaurant. We primarily live in Austin where the restaurants are great, and we have tried many in CC, and most are good, but nothing special. La Jaba was a very good experience for us. The prices were good, and the food was exceptional, including the unique offerings!
Otherwise, the Yardarm is a special little restaurant on Corpus Christi Bay near downtown, but you typically need reservations. The food is very good, including the service, but expect to spend more than average. We have been there twice and have enjoyed our experience both times. I love the fact they offer whole broiled flounder, as most restaurants do not.
Enjoy CC!

Unfortunately, La Jaiba closed about 2 months ago; it was a very good Mexican seafood restaurant. For good seafood, I recommend Saltwater Grill on Cimarron near Woolridge or Laguna Reef at the end of Laguna Shores road.

LOL! Funny right there.

One of my favorites would be Yardarm. I also like Bleu Bistro and Vietnam. And if you go to Rockport.... try Latitudes! Love me some Latitudes.

Now those are all high end, for cheap dates we frequent taquerias especially ones that serve breakfast all day.

Thanks for the replies. We wound up at cheddars after all. My phone died so wasn't able to read the responses plus it was getting late. So we just went to cheddars. Wasn't too bad. Really not bad at all. We just wanted to go off the beaten path. Maybe next time I'll plan better. Thanks again!

We tried Gracia in staples and Saratoga. It was orettt good and the only down side was it is where Russos used to be. So a bit sad Russos closed down.

Mary and I ate at Mikel Mays today on Bob Hall Pier. Good food and a great beer selection. Enjoy the Lorelei IPA brewed locally here in Flour Bluff

IMS's Backyard shop. Best fried fish around. Best grilled fish 🐟 if we can catch him when he does it. I rarely eat seafood out .

No Kidding...

It won't even do you any good to slip the maitre d' a $20 at the door.

That's some rarefied air there on Laguna Shore. Pray that you can get on the "Pass List" next time!
