I was offshore today and I think there is some red tide out there about 10 miles NE of packery. I got a water sample in a water bottle, and some video. I didn't see any dead fish, but the water definitely had a brownish streaked tint to it. I'll post the video shortly.
any other repots? |

| The official website said low concentrations were also found in Laguna Madre by Bird Island Basin. |

| I was thinking of hitting the surf tomorrow. Is the red tide building up again, or should I be good to go? |

Hopefully it won't be affecting the local beaches this weekend. I plan to hammer them! _________________ Peter Hammers them!! |

Like OFT trash said, the bloom was not Karenia brevis, the red-tide organism. The Pyrodinium actually makes a phosphorescent bloom that is pretty neat to see at night. It's always present in our local bay systems, but it is rare to see it bloom offshore. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

| I fished from the blacktop down past the 15mm in the mroning (9/21). No red tide that I saw. Ton of large skip jack, couple reds, small spanish macks, tons of bait. Even saw a couple of kings go airborn past the third bar. Looked great. May go again this morning after work tonight. |
