|
|
The City of Portland is considering constructing a public boat ramp in Portland and is requesting feedback from local fishermen and boaters regarding need and expected use. This feedback will help the City gauge the level of interest in a public boat ramp, as well as location and other considerations if the project moves forward. The City is looking for feedback on considerations such as:
- If you fish in Corpus Christi or Nueces Bay, do you think a boat ramp in Portland would provide substantial benefit to the local community?
- If a boat ramp was to be constructed, would users prefer launching along Nueces Bay or Corpus Christi Bay?
- If a boat ramp was constructed in Portland, how many times per year would you likely use it?
- Do parking lots at the nearest boat ramps fill up during peak seasons? |

Launch into nueces bay. The bluff would provide good protection for that north shoreline.
Use 6-10 times a year.
Help support local gas stations and possibly a bait stand.
Definitely would help for Portland residents. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |

-great benefit to community
-I personally would use it more if it were on the corpus bay side. (driving to north beach doesn't bother me to get to nueces)
-I would likely use it 10-15 times a year. (more if there were boatslips/marina)
-Parking lots at Nueces generally have plenty of room. Ingleside OTB and Aransas can get a little hairy.
Portland resident speaking here. I've always been amazed that we didn't have one. |

| Prefer it access Corpus Christi Bay, and would use 5-6 times per year. |

| Thank you all for the responses. If you know others that would be interested in the project, either for or against, please encourage them to reply as it will help the City gain a feel for the interest. |

you could also refurbish the existing one that is there along the causeway next to that boat place that faces nueces bay and the new marshes that CBBEP built.....just sayin...

It's hard to say when I would use it, my trips are weather dependent. At least 4 times a year almost exclusively in the summer months.
I prefer on the Nueces side just to be sheltered from the wind,, the Corpus bay side can get pretty rough sometimes. |
