Good Sunday peeps...
Got my new Wilderness Systems ATAK wet for the first time Friday....Lotta good stuff goin on with this yak, stable, decent speed and well laid out.....Got me excited for sure...
Thought I'd share some pics...
First time for me standing in any yak, still not a big fan of standing, but definitely doable, even with 50+ year old legs...
................................
Then I put younger gent in it with a flyrod and tailing redfish....He said line management not an issue...Worked out alrite...
................................
................................
................................
As the sun rose, we threw topwaters....found mostly rats and one slot...
................................
................................
By 10:30, wind cranked up and it was 'taco time'...
................................
Still learning about this yak, but so far I'm impressed...G |

| What difference do you see from the Ride? Ouch! I just went to the Wilderness Systems site and one big difference in the price. I couldn't trade my two Rides at what I paid for them for one of the ATAKs! However, it has been a few years and the Ride does not have a seat, at least to compare to the ATAK's. I need to go look at them sometimes. Thanks for the heads-up! |

tested out a 2015 ride 135 yesterday from Roys... they were very helpful. The ride 135's new seat is great, high/low/recline. easy to get up to speed and coast. my only issue was I wanted to be able to stand and fish. while the boat was definitely stable enough to do so, once you stand, that's pretty much all you can do. can't shuffle your feet anywhere due to the way the deck is laid out.
if you wanted it strictly for sitting and fishing, its a hard yak to beat! I was very surprised. Just not what I was wanting for in a yak.
Go test one out! |

Who needs a boat when you have size 14 feet? |
