Was out by the rig out about three miles in front of Packery Channel today and saw a boat tied up to the rig and fishing.
Also saw a plastic water bottle floating and since it was in my trolling path I fished it up and disposed of it.
Didn't really think about where it came from.
Next pass around rid there are two more plastic bottles floating and it was clear where they came from.

A blue Hydra-Sports boat called Pat's Toy TX-3445-FF with thee people fishing was where.
Got a photo showing the boat, people and the water bottles floating away from them.

Come on people ... would be be that hard to carry a small trash bag instead of dumping your trash into the Gulf?

Not suprised. Just look at all the trash that washes up on the beach everyday. People just don't care.

There was a news piece by kiii regarding people trashing the packery bridge area. Filmed a guy on live tv throwing his trash on the ground and showed no remorse.

This summer I witness two separate public litters. I was stuck in traffic and the lady in the car in front of me tossed her bag of food from McDonald's onto the road and a few other items from her car. Also saw a guy in the passenger seat actually get out of the car and toss a beer under their car while stopped at a red light..

And here I am feeling guilty about cliping the tag off my knots.....😒

Maybe the next race won't be as bad. This race is going to wipe itself out.

entitelist mindset..
during Fiesta in SA at the parades the City puts out hundreds of garbage cans...
after each parade, the streets look like New Orleans after Katrina!...
pitiful...
cant walk 5 steps to dispose of litter...
we've all seen it...
BTW have you ever seen an open area behind/next to any big store that sells food/drink items?
sad.
no wonder some cities want to ban plastic bags.

It is a matter of respect ... or perhaps the lack of it.
Respect for the environment, the wildlife, and other people using the resources.
People that do not respect others usually do not have much respect for themselves either.

That's like the "camps" I see down the beach, where its clearly evident a party went down.
Sure enough, there's always half buried piles of empty cans scattered about. Flat out disregard like that needs an arse whooping...and being young isn't an excuse either. Hell how hard is it to throw them in the back of the truck or just crush em and toss em back in the cooler?

What? You expect people to pick up their trash? Isn't that someone else's responsibility? Where is the gov'ment when we need them? Very Happy
I'm sorry, it's really not funny at all. Sad

Doesn't surprise me at all. As Tinman64.5 says, we'll probably extinct ourselves. However I imagine the next "top of the food chain" will probably screw up just as bad.

I know of a guy that throws his trash out of his car. His excuse? That's why I pay taxes! He's either not very bright or comes up with self serving excuses to justify his actions.

I see people all the time open a pack of cigarettes and as they're unwrapping the pack, they are throwing the wrapper on the ground. They smoke and throw the butts all over the place. I always find them on my front yard. Then, when they're done, they wad up the empty pack and throw it on the ground. That makes it a little easier for me to pick up even though I have a bad back.
