Hooked into this beautiful specimen yesterday about 26 miles down pins.
She ate a whole 15" whiting, circle hook was easily removed after the 40 minute fight and after some rest she swam off strong.
Water color was getting a lot better but was still cold. We caught whiting, a croaker, a gaftop and a decent blue fish. _________________ Bad fisherman blame their bait, or the lack there of. |

Cripes, I'll bet that felt akin to hooking a small John Deere in granny low! _________________ Dave

Billy Sandifer used to put his customers who bragged they wanted to kill a big shark onto those rays on a charter. Just drop a big whiting on the bar

Just speculation.... see the white knife stuck in the sand.... I'm going with "release but barbless"

Yes the barb was carefully taken off to ensure the fish never even bled at all. However, really didn't even need to. This old girls barb was maybe 4" long and was dull as a spoon and croaked at the end. Took it off for safety precautions any way. _________________ Bad fisherman blame their bait, or the lack there of. |
