Hooked into this beautiful specimen yesterday about 26 miles down pins.

She ate a whole 15" whiting, circle hook was easily removed after the 40 minute fight and after some rest she swam off strong.
Water color was getting a lot better but was still cold. We caught whiting, a croaker, a gaftop and a decent blue fish.

Billy Sandifer used to put his customers who bragged they wanted to kill a big shark onto those rays on a charter. Just drop a big whiting on the bar Wink

why isn't that ray stabbing the H%$@ out of him? I mean it's being held up by it's "nose holes"..... learning here

Yes the barb was carefully taken off to ensure the fish never even bled at all. However, really didn't even need to. This old girls barb was maybe 4" long and was dull as a spoon and croaked at the end. Took it off for safety precautions any way.
