Observed the TPWD Game Warden boat in the Port Aransas Harbor for about 30 minutes. Lots of boat traffic and they were just idling around with their thump up their butt. I feel they should have stopped and checked as many boats as they could for proper equipment and licenses. Why else be out there. Was it just for show? _________________ Life is Good |

For that matter, why even use a boat (and more of our resources). Why not inspect from the boat launch? _________________

| Complaints when they stop people to check on them and complaints when they leave you be. Seems like they can not please everyone. Weekend with lots of people on the water they are visible it is called crime prevention. Good job game wardens. |

| I think they are looking for the more serious cases like BWI and not wasting time nagging people about the basic stuff. |

If they had stopped you, then you would be on here complaining about them hassling you for no good reason. You just aren't happy unless you're unhappy. |

Was sitting at the bar, watched them stop a few folks. One was a guide. This was after you came in from fishing though.
They did seem to be tooling around a little much, could have been training a new officer maybe? _________________ I'd rather be fishing |

No haters just a lot of folks with God given common sense. I don't want to be stopped every time I get in my car by the DPS. just because I got in my car. If it's boater safety you are worried about then maybe on the next holiday you could get the local Coast Guard to set up a boating safety station near the ramp if they say no then I guess they aren't too worried about it. Maybe you could set up your own station and do the same thing I mean you are a " Captain " right ? As for me just the presence of the TPW being out there is enough for me to sit a little straighter in my seat. Just like seeing the DPS sitting off the side of the road looking for the guy doing 95 and not messing with us who are doing 80. When I see them I'm just a little more aware. There are no haters on this thread you just sort of sounded like a Game Warden brown noser . When you do give your boater safety class make it fun for the folks and have some coffee and cookies , oh and some koozies too. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| Way back when i was still young and beautiful and in law enforcement my actions was very much influenced by the person i had contact with. If the person was smiling and friendly towards me it put me at ease and my approach was more easy going. I apply that approach today towards the officers when i get stopped and i always have a pleasant experience with then. The customer before you might have been a @$ and the officer is still worked up. Try it it might work for you. |

No hate here, but I am fed up with know-it-all guides who gripe and complain about everything. If you hate being on the water so much, why don't you change careers?
There are plenty of negative stereotype about guides, and you, sir, have only contributed to the negative impression that so many people have. |
