for me personally, it just depends on how hard the front hit.....like the last few fronts we just had, I would have waited at least a day or 2 to let things settle back down and stabilize.

I've always found the day before front and a couple days after the front to be awesome. had one of my best red fishing days ever 2 days after our snows of 2004. When to the boathole and caught 27 Reds all slot or bigger on Plum shrimp tails. arms were sore for several days

The 1st and 2nd day after the 2004 snow storm I got several slot Reds and 2 limits (between my wife and me) of large Trout. All caught in the main canal that goes by the PIYC.

I agree with Zia. Day before or 2-3 days after. So Friday-Saturday should be great days! Just ask God not to bring in the sargassum quite yet! Reds, Smacks & pompanos should be on the slate..... And if they are there, Sharks!

I'll be fishing from South Padre Island beach, up from access road 6 drive north towards the South Port Mansfield jetty.

Tight lines!

I saw a report in the Houston Chronicle a few weeks ago that mentioned the sargassum weed should not be near as bad this year. Apparently the mass of it is coming through the strait between the Yucatan and Cuba, then turning NE this year instead of following the western gulf coast. I hope it stays that way. There was none in the Mustang Island surf today and the fishing was great.

Depends on how strong the front was. Fishing is great a day or two before. Especially if the front hits in the afternoon and you can hit it the morning of.

This past front just turns em off a bit. Youll catch but not as well unless you really know what to do.

If we get a HARD front. Like drop the water temps considerably kind of front. Then go hit the canals and channels. Fish will be stacked up.
