Dale said fog was supposed to dissipate by 10am. Boy was he wrong . Fog stayed all day at the surf. Hit SBH along with my son in from Los Alamos, NM and 2 grandsons. Male bonding time.

Fog never did lift but every time sun peeked out I caught fish. Had 3 rods out. 1 with cut bait in the 2nd gut, 1with fishbites/shrimp in second gut and 3rd rigged same way in 1st gut. Only caught fish in 1st gut. Wound up with 1 whiting and 8 pomps. Got pics on cam but batteries are dead. Will try to post pics from phone.
Great time at the beach with the guys.

Nice job. What was the tide doing while you were there? I'm keeping a mental notebook for some nebulous time in the future when I might actually be able to come down and fish! Sad

Congrats, that's the most pomps I've heard being caught in a day in a long time!

When I got there it was still. As you might imagine not much of a bite. Tide started coming in about 1. Sun peeked out about 2 and along witj incoming tide so did the fish.

Thanks, and yes..... I CAN imagine! Even in our famous trout waters like the White River and Little Red, the fish really put on the feed bag as the "tide" starts rising, which is caused by the generators running upstream. Wink

That's the first decent Pomp report that I have heard this year. Good job, Tom.

Great news Zia. That's music to my ears. I'll see if I can give it a whirl tomorrow.

Went out SBH in the late afternoon yesterday for a couple hours, and with the falling tide, did relatively well on whiting, but was once again eluded by the fleeting pomps! Everything was on the frontside of the 2nd bar. All on fresh peeled shrimp. Cut bait past the second bar went untouched.

Still, it was nice to see the Sun come out for a change. CS
