The VA wants to give me a voucher to have Dr. Fagen to do Mohs surgery. The reviews I can find are not very good. Has anyone used this Dr? VA want let me go to Audie Murphy like my 5 previous skin cancer surgeries. _________________ Mastergunner, supporter of hardheads for state fish of Texas |

My wife and I have been seeing Dr Fagan for about 9 or 10 years. We have found him to be an excellent physician in his field and we will continue seeing him. Good lucK ! _________________ William R. Dunn |

| Not sure if this applies to you but this is what i know on moes. My dad grew up on a ranch in texas and never knew anything about skin cancer. Constantly bombarded by the sun even with long sleeves and cowboy hat every cell in face and hands is basically cancerous. Insert what we call shake and bake. The first few treatments are tough. After that it's fine 24 hours after begging radiated. |

Dr. Fagan is who I go to and I have only seen him once to get rid of a melanoma growth on my ear. I go back at least once a year and see Mr. Rhinehart. Fastest service in town usually in before my appointment time and out within 10 to 15 minutes. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook!

Do you mean Rhandy Fagan who resides in Austin?? If so he quit his regular pratice and took a job teaching new doctors how to use the divinchie robotics system. He was my surgon when I had my prostate removed due to cancer. In the hospital less than 24 hours then back home.

| Last time there Rhinehart prescribed Flourourcil cream for precancerous spots on my face. In and out in no time. No paperwork to fill out. They give you a tablet and everything is done electronically. Even copay. Scan card and move on. |

Thanks everyone. I suppose I will give him a try based on 2 things. One is I respect some individuals replys as to be honest and if I go to VA dr. in harlegen its not mohs and may have to go back several times to have more removed instead of all at one visit. _________________ Mastergunner, supporter of hardheads for state fish of Texas |

| I had 2 squamous cell carcinomas removed using the MOHs technique over 10 years ago from the skin area below my left temple in front of the ear. The procedure is a dramatic way to treat skin cancer versus other traditional cancer treatments (radiation, chemo). Basically cancer tissue is surgically removed until no cell tissues are detected. So after the initial cancer tissue is removed, you wait (with the wound covered) while the biopsy is tested. If cells are detected, more tissue is removed until no cancerous cells are detected. In my first surgery, it took 3 extractions before I was cancer free. A year or so later, The second surgery took just 2 extractions. Fortunately my surgeon was one of the best plastic surgeons in the SA area and scarring was minimal. Best of luck! |

That's what I had on my ear with Dr. Fagan. Looked like a melon baller coming at me with a razor edge. They came back and cleaned out some more. It didn't hurt but it did bleed all night long. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook!

Mastergunner, it could be worse, it could be a women doctor, as it was in my case! Having a strange women go over your entire body with a scalpel in hand is not the most comfortable feeling I have ever had, not to mention the female aide observing the procedure. |

| I have referred patients to Wayne Fagan for 10 years. He does good job very competent MOHs surgeon. Sometimes online reviews are written by folks mad about any number of things. I would not trust them unless they are like Angie's list and have to leave name and verified legit. |

| I cannot emphasize how important tmcpadre's post is. The individuals that assault reputations on the web are often those that have induced their own problems, regardless of effort by the medical office. Do not believe evaluations where the evaluator will not leave their name and address. Drive by web assaults are a dime a dozen and are written by cowards. |
