that makes the 4th one of those ive seen sunk...

I heard someone at bluffs was putting their SCB up in the sling and it buckled right in the middle.

I guess that's what they mean when they say "there's a price to pay to go fast?"

Is it the rocks or is it our chop they can't handle ? They are cool and they are fast and they are expensive but are they better than our Mother Lagoon's wave chop in 25mph winds? However our tides are extremely low maybe they bounced on the bottom somewhere. Shocked

Looks like as in the other cases it was operator error, I heard the owner let someone borrow the boat, and they only screwed in 1 of the 6 drain plugs in the hull. Seatow floated it back up and found the plugs not screwed in. As far as the buckled one, um let just say I'm skeptical.

that's what I heard too but we are all hearing it from the same place lol, 2nd and 3rd hand hearsay. If 5 of the 6 plugs were left out how did it not sink or start to sink while they were out fishing?

I had three friends in the boat slip two stalls down that saw it, I didn't. But the conversation we had wasn't an SCB bashing session, more of a "holy poo poo, I can't believe that happened".

supposedly a relatively new boat in one of those first slings next to the bait stand... there are several SCB's (anda fat cat) in that row, so who knows.

on these sunk boats, there have been several that are sinking with water over the transom.. not enough foam? beats me, I don't build them... but I do know I've seen other boats almost full of water and they don't go down like these do. maybe they need to look at installing a set of auto bilge pumps in the sponsons if that wouldn't slow them down too much LOL

lol, guess you didn't see the swamped extreme sitting on the bottom last year in the meadows or the rfl tower boat that turtled over after getting swamped and washed out to deeper water last year out of Galveston. There was also a extreme in a flw tournament that sank a few years back after livewell fitting broke and flooded the hull full of water. The one in the meadows last year happened just like 2 of the scb's I've seen get swamped, power poled down on a windward shoreline or spoil then wading away from the boat is a recipe for disaster. Also seen several other brands do the same thing doing just that including southshore, shoalwater, gulf coast, and JH to name a few.

I tapped on the side of an SCB once and was very surprised, it sounded thin and hollow.
