A little over a month ago, I was able to take this image of my dad on what would prove be the last of hundreds of excursions we made into the outdoors. May 24th, 2014 - a son, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, a hero, and a best friend passed peacefully while being embraced by loved ones in this world to being embraced by loved ones in the next.

We didn't have him for long enough but we made the very most of the time that we had.

He really loved reading this forum and had a great time on the CCfishing Offshore Trips... he's now with CCBobber, Rabbit and the other great members we've had here over the years, fishing in heaven with a golden fishing pole.

To the man who showed us what the measure of a man truly is,
To the man who showed us what husbandly, fatherly, and brotherly love truly is,
To the man who gave his all to us,
We miss you.

My condolences to you and your family and I'm sorry for your loss. Take comfort knowing he is at peace now in a new heavenly body and will live on in your memories until you meet again. You will be in my prayers.

Wow your words were perfect couldn't be said better. All I can say is ' I sure hope that group doesn't catch all the fish before I get there".

JB my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father.
From the short time I knew and was able to visit with him, I found he was one of the best individuals you'll ever meet.

my uncle built many large tanks and cleared land in LaSalle and Webb Co's way back when.. my dad and the other brother and their cousins ran dozers and scrapers building the SoTx brush country into what it is now...
big ranches and small private lakes...
their reward was bassfishing and quail hunting the results...
all are gone, now, but lotsa good memories.
got to see all that long ago.
was in your shoes in early Jan 2014...
it gets easier, but never heals.
