I've managed to keep her fed for two weeks, and she's growing quickly. I love how these fish can change colors every few seconds, and that backout while hunting her next meal is especially cool.

She can look chromed and light colored, like this pattern last week...

...or the typical Mahi colors, still in juvi patterns like yesterday. She has grown in length and girth, and is a very fast hunter. She will eat several fish per day, so I tend to keep the sein net in the back of the truck to bring home dinner every day or two.

If you never got the chance to see a little Mahi eating, it is pretty cool...

thats pretty cool Prof! Find her in a sargassum mat I assume?

There was a guy wading in the massive field of sargassum that collected of it at the corner of the South Port A jetty, scooping it up with net and searching through it. I bet he found some goodies.

Luke, I got her while dipnetting the stuff off Packery boat launch. I also found the largest sargassum fish I've ever seen. Ended up throwing back more than six others, since they will eat each other in the tank...

My tank is 55 gallon, but I'm talking to the TX State Aquarium about handing her off to them when the time comes.

They grow fast. It won't be long before you can feed her baby sea turtles Twisted Evil
