Yea...what a great turn out.
Took my Tacoma for the 1st time...was in the 3rd group...28MM. Took additional 3 people who were great...they sure had some nice stories.
The drive was rough but she made it ok. Washed it a couple of times real good afterwards.
The beach looks great....as always.

I learned a few things as well. My Jeep can make it out there no problem. Check to make sure my brake lights are working prior to going out there, lol. Pick the right line when pulling out a huge piece of rope or you will have to get pulled out of the 4 holes your tires make, lol. And our efforts to get the word out more has really paid off. I posted up the event with reminders on about 8 different facebook pages. The few mods I did over the past 6 months to make my Jeep perform better on the beach did pay off cause it rode softer. I was also in group 2. I had the red 89 Wrangler with "Red Rider" on the hood. I know one of my Jeep friends came down from San Antonio and she was in group 3 in her black and pink Jeep Wrangler towing a trailer. I know for a fact we would have had at least a dozen more Jeeps coming out if it wasn't for the fact that there was also a charity wheeling event at Canyons Offroad Park. Good thing is they raised $18,795 for Wheelers For The Wounded. I can't wait til next year for my 3rd year of beach cleanup. I had a blast!!!

We've considered getting about 500 but were thinking they'd be too expensive and we'd have to have a place to keep them, check them out to section leaders, etc. But we may need to revisit that idea.

I'm not familiar with the policies of the organizers as to whether or not some change can be made from getting a donation for each of these "grabbers". Or you could just distribute to those that would like to use them and require a donation be made to cover the cost. That way you wouldn't have to worry about them being returned.

Just a quick idea.

i had more fun picking up trash honestly. I found that people using grabbers were standing in a big pile and taking forever to clean that spot and then even leaving alot of it. So im not sure how well the beach would get cleaned if there were lots of "Grabbers" verse "pickers"?

Thanks, we'll entertain having some free ones to give out or lend but we are not allowed to sell or exchange stuff for money on the National Seashore.
