Get an H20 Express Mettle. The retail is $50, but you can find them new for $30 occasionally. It is a quality and cheap baitcaster, runs pretty smooth. If you like the way it feels, go upgrade to a more expensive shimano...otherwise just stick to your spinning gear.

This is correct.....be warned though.....The reason it's on sale is due to a slight modification under the reel..they smoothed out the bottom on the new models due to huge increase in discomfort. ....aside from that it's been on sale for 4 more now......so it will be a hard catch. If you find it get it!

I use a Citica 200e7, Chronarch 200e7, and Ambassador 5600c4. All of them are great reels and cast very well. Reeling is extremely smooth on all of them aswell. The ambassador holds a bit more line than the shimanos.

I just see alot of people using them and wanted to give them a shot. But if they are more hassle than they are worth I'll just stick to a spinning reel. Any suggestions.

I tried it back in 82, did it for a year and went back to egg beaters. Stradic CI4+ on a H&H Kevlar.. Sweetest combo
