Was down by Bird Island last week and it was still some brown, but not nearly what it had been. Salinity was still in the upper, upper 40's, so Baffin and points around there ought to be running in the 50's.
Could make out the grass beds and sand holes while the tide was up pretty good, so visibility was ~ O.K. |

Water in Baffin looks terrible as of 2 weeks ago. I didn't see it but my dad ran from Williamson's to East Kleberg and all brown he said. The wind had been calm for several days to so it was brown tide. He said he caught drum but was too murky for lures. _________________ But you ain't got no legs Lt. Dan, I know that |

Now I am really not getting this BT thing. My best guess was salinity related and due mostly to very little freshwater getting into Baffin. After the summer/fall rains Baffin shouldn't be that high of salinity but maybe I am wrong. _________________ Wish I Were in Baffin |

Baffin has the unique ability to increase in salinity when there is freshwater runoff. Sounds crazy, right? The freshwater runs over the salt pans and washes it all into the bay so.........freshwater often raises the salinity in Baffin. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |
