I took a duck there last year without doing my research. He took my first call back in August and said it would be about another month. He's not taken my call since. After doing some research, I found out he has a long history of not delivering on his work. BBB, Troubleshooters, etc. I'm going to go through all the proper complaint channels but I doubt I'll see my duck back.

The thing about having game mounted is that it's a memory of a moment in time, with friends or loved ones, or people who are now dead. That he doesn't appreciate that is kinda sad. I'd hate for any of you guys to have this happen to you with a fish of a life time or with game that represents a special moment in your lives. Don't take my word for it, do your own research. But buyer beware.

The guy is definitely a thief! I been fishing these bays for many years and finally landed a 30+" trout while I was on a great memorable fishing trip w my family and coworkers. I decided to take it to garza taxidermy wout doing much research as he was local. WRONG MOVE! The guy sounded to be a straight up guy while he was taking my money. He painted a pretty picture as how the fish would look and how awesome his work is. I spent 45minutes with him as he showed me his shop and photos of prior work. He told me the mount would be ready in 90 days. It has been nearly a year that I have tried to even get a reply from the thief more less my fish! I paid him $300 to start the job and have not heard a word from him after numerous phone calls and stops to his shop throughout the year. I've sent emails, texts, left numerous voicemails, left letters at his door, and no luck! After doing more research I've seen his "F" rating in the BBA and how he has also been accused of stealing others money, animals, and memories on "trouble shooters" here on the local news. I've tried my all out hardest to contact Mr Daniel Garza almost every day with no success. Please do not fall for his trap and take your memories to someone more reputable than Daniel Garza Taxidermy! Hate that this has come down to this and have no other choice than to seek legal action. Not only bc of the measly $300 he stole from me but due to the fact that this guy is stealing our memories than can never be replaced.

haha man, if I were y'all, i'd be outside his damn shop waiting for him. Clear all this up for everyone who is missing mounts/cash from him.

If it were me, I would stage a setup by getting in touch with him about an expensive mount and arrange a time to meet. When I got there I would have either the police or maybe the local news suddenly show up to investigate. I'm just saying! Smile

Paul Aston rented him his building on W O W. Call him at Astons Designs if you want to know where you can find him.

I'd like to recover my money and my duck if possible. I've reported him to the Texas Attorney General, although I doubt much will come of that Perhaps, if enough people do it, they may force him to suspend his operation. Also looked into small claims court. I am supposed to write a demand letter return receipt requested. Then I can file. It's likely he will ignore the instructions to appear before the court. They will find against him and then issue a judgement. Eventually they will garnish his wages to recover the judgement. Even if he does appear, its pretty straight forward his a crook. As appealing as the tough guy routine is to assault him outside of his place of employment or business, I'm thinking I'll go the legal route. This way I may actually recover something instead of just getting into a fist fight. I encourage anyone else who's been ripped off to do the same. PM me for the links and the details if you're interested.

make sure he is not well connected. that may be why he has gotten away with it for so long. we lost in a small claims court against a guy that we had a verbal agreement with for a hunting lease (apparently a hand shake means nothing these days.) turns out, he went to school with the judge. small world I guess.
