Figured it couldnt hurt to ask. Sorry if this isnt the right place to ask, but figured people would see it here. I see boats in yards that look like they havent moved in years. And im a bit weary to go knocking on doors to see if they want to get rid of them.
So, im looking for a bay boat 17-20ft that is in need of fixing up/restore.(an old aquasport would be ideal) no motor necessary. the only thing is it needs to have a title. but i dont care how rough it is. looking for it on the cheap or free. i just need something to tinker with.
here is my last project that i did, just to give you an idea im not afraid of some work. Unfortunately a scooter isnt a style of boat i particularly care for.

That first picture looks an awful-lot like a Roman Chariot!!
But I must say, you did a bang-up job on the restoration. Those boats (the floating door/flats model) are the bomb in Port Mansfield, especially rigged with a jet-drive. |

The original console had to go. that thing was crazy. had some weird gas tank seat that you had to step over and sat inside the chariot. i got the boat from tpw, it had been sitting since 2000. i have kids (3yr and 5yr old) so a scooter is not the ideal fishing platform for me. Also i like to run off/near shore and theres no way i would go out in one of those things. although i have seen it. _________________ If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am. |

Wow, that's a really cool skiff. What do you plan to do with it? _________________ "There's no such thing as a bad day fishing." |

You might try Tahoe Industries out of Manor, TX. He's a small custom boat builder that buys and parts out junk boats. It's been a couple years since I was out there but he had over a hundred hulls and trailers at that time. I've purchased lower units from him before and he seemed like an alright guy.
His # is. (512) 272-4311, Manor is just east of Austin. If you have a specific hull type in mind I can use the excuse to drive out there and get some pics.
There is also Captain Mac's Marine that does about the same thing, run away from that guy. |

| Today, I saw a "junk" boat with no motor sitting in front of the yellow Pawn and Tackle shop on the SPID access road between HEB and the bait shop. |

thanks guys. the scooter isnt an interest for me. the boat out front of the pawn shop is a stoner skiff type boat. not really looking for a flatbottom boat. John im partial to the 170 or 19'6 aquasport boats, if you need an excuse lol.
Its good to see that you guys are looking out for me. one of the big reasons i love this forum. Its like home _________________ If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am. |

I have a 20' pontoon boat I want to sell cheep. It is a project boat. It does make a good fishing platform and a great swim platform. I know this is not what you are looking for but thought I would throw it out there any way. _________________ SALTYDOG AKA Cliff McKay
