Very nice setup! I got the same little boat that im gonna start taking out regularly. I traded the boat straight up for a kayak I couldn't use and bought a 1966 18hp evinrude for 160 bucks. A couple hundred more on a major tune up (water pump, prop, carb rebuild, thermostat, fuel pump, spark plugs) and it runs like new.

That 18hp should push that tin can pretty good. Im running a 1986 evinrude 15hp and it jumps up and goes!! Just got a 40lb thrust rip tide for the front off craigslist.

I've had 5 small boats over the past few years under 17'. It's like potato chips. Get one JUST right and something else catches your eye.

I'm thinking of getting rid of the offshore cuddy and going smaller, I've had it for 8 years. Anyone know of a small deep V with about a 115-4 stroke? Laughing

The best part about having alittle boat like this is the fact that it holds three gallons of fuel and will run all day. If I happen to run ground I'll just get out and push it off. Boat ramps? NAHH Just un-hitch the trailer and dump it in!! Ive looked into $50k+ rigs for fishing and just couldnt imagine dumping that kind of cash on something to just sit in the garage or driveway. Nothing against the guys that have them fancy flats sleds but the look on their faces when we show up to the cleaning tables with a box of fish is priceless!!!
