| This little storm is not in the Lake's watershed. The massive rain last week is on its way to fill it right now. |

the Nueces river is over the banks in George West and you could see water still flowing in. It is a very good sign. Now lets hope they don't open the damn too much. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |

Was up in Georgewest on Saturday afternoon/evening and the river was flowing nicely and went up quite a few feet in the few hours I was there. Some major timber flowing through as well so be careful if on the water. Hopefully it will fill the lake _________________ Fish On! |

River in TR and GW is on the brink of overflowing in many areas. It's amazing how quickly water rises with a couple of days of rain. I even tired to squeeze in some fishing under the 59 bridge but the rising water made my spot inaccessible. _________________ Fishing is my addiction |

Lake CC up about 2' in the last 24 hours. If this rate keeps up it is full in 5 days...
My parents still live in the house there where I grew up. It's been a long dry spell for them. Dad may actually get to fish 'his' lake again! _________________ Why is it that these days sales people seem to be as honest as I am knowledgeable? |

The lake is wet in places that haven't seen water in three years, another 6'-7' and it will be full. I heard on the news it was at 50%. It'll be tough navigating for the power boats for a while due to the trees that have grown in the lake when it was dry, but maybe some good crappie and bass days soon. _________________ Live Full |

| It's hard to believe it can go from 25% to 50% full in 7 days...goes to show how little water it holds compared to Choke Canyon...people got mad when they wouldn't release water out of choke to keep mathis full or at least higher...choke is a much better vessel to retain water due to its size and depth....a whole lot less water lost due to evaporation and such...but glad to see it filling back up again...if this drought is on its way to being over...ought to be some good fishing there the next couple of years... |

won't have to worry about it long as they're already planning to release water from the lake....
we've had more rain directly over the bays this year than in the last couple (outside of the 12" turdfloaters), and finally get a chance to fill OUR WATER SOURCE, and now they're going to release it..... |

| Let's see if the city council has enough huevos and common sense to keep the water restrictions going. Choke is where we really need the water, and we're heading for the dry time of year. |

Yea right!!! The Caller-Times article on Tuesday, that reported on the rapidly rising lake levels began with :
Residents may be able to again water their lawns with sprinklers and wash their cars more than one day a week courtesy of floodwaters reaching Lake Corpus Christi in the coming week.
Now that's a real conservation message, right there.........
We are nearing the end of October and your grass is about to go dormant. It has been raining for some time now, and the very last thing your lawn needs is more water. And this buffoon at the CT begins the article like that!!! We have a long way to go in educating the public on water...... |

From what I understand, the plan is still to let the lake fill but all it to do so at a slow rate that is controllable. The reason being, if they don't control the fill rate with congtrolled releases, and then wait until its over flowing before they decide to allow flow, then ALL the excess water has to be released constantly which could cause flooding downstream. Sounds like they are trying to think ahead. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

yep lake was already up to 84% and more water coming they have to start doing a controlled release or the people living down stream are going to have to swim to work. _________________
