I've never offered up a fishing report in here , just sucked up info so far from others. Although boring my guilt drives me to submit one now.

Started out the day with a migraine, my ol' ladie's that is, so I was on my own today. My boat is still in the near finished stage so I decided to take a break from the money hole and hit the shorelines. Started at the state park across from LHL to net some live bait and stock up on skipjack steaks. A really nice fella was giving up the ghost and offered me his leftover live shrimp. A couple dozen still healthy. I packed up and headed to Charlie's Pasture and fished the bulkheads there with a chunk o skipjack and freelined a shrimp or live mullet with the other. Lots of mullet activity. Not much to report there but a trout and some skip jack. Broke off from there and headed for the South Jetty and fished from the base area clear of the crowds. There were quite a few telephone poles lined up along the bulkhead with nothing going on. I fished one deep rod with skipjack and had a blast freelining live shrimp and mullet with the other. I hooked and landed one smack on my mono leader and turned him loose. And decided my luck was working that he didn't slice my mono. But another nearly spooled me and wrapped me up in junk. I rigged cable and caught a couple of keeper smacks and took home a couple of gray (mangrove) snappers for supper. When the "billion mullet march" started I packed up and headed for a beer and some batter that my mended better half applied to my catch and fried up with some of her patented 'tater salad parked next to it. Fun day, nice break from toiling at the boat project.

Thanks for the report. The billion mullet march sounds like Flour Bluff Walmart on a holiday weekend. Laughing
