The seas were very nice today compared to the choppy 5-7' seas on Tuesday. You know it is calm when you can clear the jetty's, never slow down and not take a beating. The kingfish bite was pretty good all morning making a limit pretty easy. There were shrimpers scattered throughout the anchorage area, with some having sharpnose sharks and jacks on them. I did not hear of any large blacktips caught today. We only saw two undersized ling, but Captain Mark on BBII had another keeper around 25 lbs. He said it came up with a school of jackfish behind a single shrimp boat. I also saw a nice 34 lb. ling weighed in at Woody's Sport Center for the CCA "Star Tourney." |

GT, I have been doing alot of 4 hours trips out of Woody's on the Island Queen this summer, but have missed the last few weeks due to back problems. Do you know if they have been doing any good? _________________ "I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize what you heard is not what I mean." |

They were anchored off the south jetty when we came in this afternoon. They fish a lot off the jetty's when it is calm and I also see them occasionally anchored across the channel near the "Fina Docks." If you use your own fishing rod and take live bait, those areas can be productive when the conditions are right. |
