Was doing a bait recon for next week and mainly trying to see how bad the water and driving was.

We went out at low tide, had about a 3 lane road of driving by the water without any seeweed in sight the entire stretch of the beach. Bait was still not present and the water was murky till the third with bright blue water distinctly at the edge of the third. Stopped at the 40 to fish a little bit and picked up some nice large gaftops, Proceeded down to the jetties and thats where things get rough.

From the 50-60 water is looking great, still no bait but about 60-70% visibility. Temps was still cold, but at least its fishable for lures and other creatures.

At the 59 there is a road that goes up a cliff and only a small 4x4 can really take that road (had an oh sh!t moment myself). The water comes in real close to the dunes near there with very little places to drive to get past.

We fished a little bit with the live perch and mullet we had, had several non stop runs but the hooks pulled. Picked up a bluefish and called it a day. We left at high tide, with absolutely no bait at the jetties. We had a decent amount of trouble getting out of the 50s in 4wheel, having to go into some very soft deep sand. From the 52-51 on the way back there was a mile long bait ball with birds working ferociously about 600 yards out. Water for the entire stretch on the way back at 5pm was about 70% visibility. Soft ruts mainly at high tide. and from the 5mm to the 30mm sea weed was looking more prominent but manageable. Surf should be heating up this week. Good Luck and tight lines.

thanks for that report.
I hope to be there by dawn. It'll be the first time my wife goes with me so I hope I can put her on a fish or two.

Yeah I saw that Tuesday when we were there. Thought one of my friends was going to loose it, because the sand was giving out. I didn't snap till it was too late to record it or to take a picture.
