Any of you guys think the "supermoon" will have any effects on the fishing this weekend? I want to try a late night wade tonight. How far north is that brown tide running? Thanks fellas.

I think it's already effecting the tides and it may last into early next week.

The moon will be at its fullest on the 23. It is rising early. Should be at it's best around 3-4 am. Moonrise will be at 20:50 it will set at 06:48 the moon will be at it's fullest at 06:33 am we should see it at 99.8 % full. One minute later it will not be at it's fullest. This is as close as it will be to the Earth in 2013. IMS

Hey IMS. Is that time adjusted for the lat/long of the Bluff? You were pretty precise on the minute. Smile

Serious question. Did some of your information arrive or is due to you being an official weather station?

Rgds,
Joe

Just some friendly items for those interested. I've always enjoyed looking through a telescope. Has nothing to do with weather. Now for an old experienced fisherman it means a lot. Very Happy

No, that's a good lens or a photo taken with a telescope assist. NICE SHOT!

I fished north of the causeway, up to Redfish Bay yesterday. The Brown water is as far north as Shamrock island. Starts clearing as you round the peninsula of Shamrock lakes, headed towards East Flats. The water inside Shamrock lakes looks good, but lots of boats in there.

Those magnifying glasses work really well when you hold it up to the phone camera Wink

We'll see what happens tonight - Houston is supposed to be at 21% cloud cover but clearing going into 9pm. Corpus area will be at 50% cloud cover around 6, forecasted to be clearing to 15% by 9pm. Hopefully you guys will get a good show!

If you're interested, I put together a few tips on maximizing your opportunities to get a good shot of it (http://www.jbmvphotography.com/blog/2013/6/subduing-the-super-moon). I think you could stand on the north jetty at Packery back into the channel a little bit and get a great shot of it rising directly between the north and south jetties. And yes, prints available on everything Wink
