Has anyone been catching trout in the surf using croaker or topwaters yet? Im headed down this afternoon to fish this evening and tomorrow. Also, when i take the boat and fish night hawk, i see that there is an entrance where u can get a vehicle back there. If any one is willing to share that location it would be greatly appreciated. I have 4x4 so thats not really an issue

thanks

good fishin

I've been hearing reports of trout in the surf on croaker. I tried the beach north of the port a jetties with piggies on Saturday morning and the surf just south of BHP on Sunday afternoon with croaker and nada. Lots of weed and it was a little sloppy both days. When I went Sunday there wasn't much current so that was a factor too I'm sure.

I have been doing decent in the first gut, only a few blow ups in the wade gut. But I have been fishing an outgoing/low tide in the afternoons so there hasnt been much of a wade gut! Fishing the outgoing tide makes the weed a little more managable..... Forget the croaker unless the surf is a little less angry!

Took the kids out yesterday just south of bhp. Just threw some dead shrimp the kids needed to get out. Weeds still pretty bad going out to spj tomorrow after work if you would like to join. Did ok last week with two reds and a drum.
