| The Texas panhandle is a true fisherman's solitary confinement!!! Finally I'm here in the Corpus Christi area and within 15 minutes of the ocean! I've visited all of the favorite spots my deceased dad and I used to fish and it's as if he and I were here just yesterday. In fact, caught double withing on my frist cast about 15 yards from the beach just like the old days. |

| Born in San Antinio, returned from Army in 1979, been moving as my job dictates since then. I was in Borger, TX., and now here in Corpus. Lake Meredith is about 10 miles from Borger but it's been drying up since the water source was diverted some years back. Something killed all the fish and you have to go quite a ways to find a decent lake and there are no rivers either. It's actually not easy to talk fishing with the locals becasue they simply don't fish. Transplanted Phillips Petroleum workers were my best bet for a fishing story. |
