Thought of a name for the group of beach-blocking toadies who can't make up their mind what name fits them: Shexlickers.

Yet another reason why driving on the beach is superior to walking.

No trust

I am an avid beachgoer, and the fact that City Council wants to take away any opportunity for me to just drive up and fish infuriates me. As of now, they plan to close 7,200 feet of beach to driving. They promise to leave it open to the public, but they also promised us a park when Packery Channel was built. Can we trust these guys?

If this lengthy section of beach is closed, everyone might as well move to Florida. It might have very few public beaches, but at least there is pretty water to look at if you can see past the high-rise condos from the nearest highway. I don't want my children to wonder what is on the other side of those big buildings.

Every weekend I make my way to Corpus Christi and take my nieces and nephew fishing for the day. I like the fact that I can drive up and cast a line without having to walk with four kids and fishing gear. It's not exciting for them if they have to haul around equipment!

Citizens, take action against the City Council and sign the petition to save our beaches. It's your beach, not Schexnailder's.

Andrew Mason

Hello, Mr. French. Thanks for posting that up and getting the word around even further. I'm doing everything I can here in Kingsville.
