Tyler,

When is another of these going to be held? I have never kept up with the timing and couldn't remember when you had them, time of year. I would like to go and wondered if one is in the planning stage?

Well,

Old Bobber used to handle that with collecting all of the funds etc. and putting down the deposit. Bobber could take credit cards through his accounting business. We normally held it on a Saturday in June during the snapper season and it ran about 175 dollars per person if we held the boat to 20 fishermen for a 12hr trip.

Bob used to put it to a vote for the days and or length of trip 8hr versus 12hr.

The only bad part about having it during snapper season is that Amberjack fishing is closed in Federal waters (where most of them live) during snapper season.

However we might stand a better chance of putting something together after snapper season if there is an interest in doing so.

I'll call them and see if any boat is available for private charter then since the snapper season is only 12 days this year.

So we have at least three who would be interested? We need twenty paid. Looks like the fee for 20 on a 12hr is 3200 plus any added fuel charges.

All of the Saturdays are booked for the 12hr trips during the 12 day Federal Snapper Season. Sunday June 2nd, Monday June 3rd, Tuesday June 4th are available. Wednesday June 5th is available but only as an 8hr,

Cost on 12hr during the week is $2,600* for up to 10 persons
$60* for each additional person plus fuel surcharge. That's 3200 divided by 20 plus count on an additional 300 for fuel divided by 20.

That Sunday June 2nd would be the higher rate of $3,300* for up to 20 persons
$60* for each additional person. So that would be $3,900 plus the fuel surcharge of roughly 300 dollars. So around $210 per person.

8hr trip during the week $1,900* for up to 10 persons
$50* for each additional person. so that would be 2400 plus any fuel charge divided by 20 folks or around 130 per person.

Please voice your opinion on

If you can go, would it have to be that Sunday trip of June 2?

Would you want to do the 8hr? We should be able to get easy limits of snapper either way.

Do you want to schedule a trip after snapper season instead?

Which day of the 12hr trips?
Sunday June 2nd?
Monday June 3rd?
Tuesday June 4th?

Tyler and all,

I'd LOVE to be a part of this again but Obamanomics has me strapped way past tight for funds! It was one heck of a great time the first two years, and I had paid up last year only to have to sell my spot to FIDO because of jury duty!!!!!! Truth be told, it was going to be a real financial punch in the gut even last year, but this time it's academic.

I hope two things happen; that the trip comes off, and that you all have a great freaking time! Just my two cents here...... It's takes so long to get out to where we were fishing that an 8 hour trip would be a no go for me even IF I could afford to come down. The first year it was really blowing and fairly rough even for a 70+ foot boat, so much so the the captain had to continually throttle back for the larger swells. What was supposed to have been a "three hour tour" out to the first spot wound up being closer to four.

I hear ya Dave. Too bad you wouldn't be able to come down. It would be best if you came down for a long enough period of time to go offshore, bay fishing and surf fishing! Like two weeks or something like that. You're still welcome to go Pompano fishing with me this fall if you want! Drive down, I'll see if I can't send you back with as much as possible. That would take the edge off the grocery bill anyway. BTW, I think Dolphin Docks if turning the Dolphin into a state water snapper boat Wink . They got a new offshore boat too, a big one. It pretty nice.

I'm out for the weekdays in June but could probably pull off the weekend. I would be good for a later date without the snapper too.

Thanks for your efforts Tyler! Very Happy
