Port Aransas:
Waves: 2 to 4 feet
Water Temp: 70.7
Wind: 30 mph gusting to 45 mph out of NE
Water Color: Opaque olive green with a touch of cinnamon
Birds: Gulls huddling on the beach, a few crazy gulls flying over the water
Beach: No new weed but some hyacinth and driftwood
Bait: Hell I wouldn't be out there this morning!
Air temp: 65 degrees at 8 a.m.
My surf fishability rating: 0.5/10
I guess I'm not fishing today. Even my dog didn't want to be out there.
Here is yesterday's report:
SPJ around noon I caught 7 bonnet head sharks on the surf side from the end of the jetty. They were from 18 to 37 inches. Plenty of sheeps being caught up and down the rocks. I'm bored with these fish so I wasn't after them. A few locals joined us on the end and were very nice. They caught one nice 25 inch drum and lost one on the rocks a little bigger. A small boat then anchored just 30 yds. from us and began casting back in. It was an older couple who, apparently, had no fear their anchor would slip and send them crashing in to the rocks. No manners either. Some spring break holdovers showed up and crowded us. Two were making out and one guy kept pacing the rocks with his cell phone to his ear. He ran in to my line with his forehead twice. Oblivious to the danger of walking the rocks while not looking I'm surprised he didn't go down. It continued to get more crowded so be bailed to give Packery Park a chance. Water wasn't much cleared than it had been the day before but my brother managed a small sheep and I, to extreme surprise, caught 2 more bonnet heads just a few feet from the channel markers. This is a first for me at the park. Anyone else found them here?http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b569/Kodos555/Facebook/iOS%20Photos/486567_4499871420671_494523437_n.jpg?t=1363738092
I forgot how to post pics from photobucket! Some help please? |
