I'm working on thinning out the local Axis herd here in my neighborhood. While check out some areas looking for where they bed down, I found one area and saw fresh droppings. My question is how long does deer droppings take to become hard and loose its wet look? I found some last night that was still wet looking and when poking it with a stick I was able to dent it half way through with not much effort. Couldn't figure out how fresh it was cause I ain't studied deer droppings very much in my many years of hunting. _________________ Jacob McDonald

depends on wind and humidity...if it was that fresh, i'd say you either pushed them or missed them by a few hours. hard to tell.
where are you hunting that you have axis in the hood? _________________ Trophy whitetail and exotic hunts on some of the finest ranches Texas has to offer, www.mcoutfitterstexas.com

| Well it depends on your location. I know the dog crap in my backyard will stay mushy for days with the crazy humidity on the water. Just PM me you location I won't tell...Just joking. You both are lucky to have a places to hunt. With the prices for a decent lease nowadays I would have to give up fishing and sell the boat to hunt seriously. My advice is spend as much time as possible out there with the family, especially kids if you have them, and take a $hitload of pictures. |

I'm outside city limits and right on the county border. _________________ Jacob McDonald
