Very sad news! I will agree with what Tyler said and hope to live my life this way! |

Sorry to hear. I'm glad we (T/O) were given the opportunity to give him a send off when he moved back up north. I'm gonna try and be brief.
Around three years ago, Rabbit called me and said he had accepted a job with a type of security company and that they wanted him to drive up here to SA and guard an empty home on our east side. Well if your familiar with SA's east side it can be dicey most of the time and he asked my opinion. I didn't want to scare him into not doing his job but told him to call me any time, if he felt he had to. I think he called me like six times during the night, mostly because there were individuals who were walking by and he wanted them to see that he was in contact with someone. His final call was around 6:00 am the next day and said "it wasn't that bad". I just thought that was funny. BTW, I wouldn't have done it and I was raised on SA's West side which can be or is just as dicey.
Thanks for that memory Paul. |

Paul called me this morning. He is not doing well and informed me that he has 2-3 weeks before joining his buddy Bluffer. Thank God he made it home to spend the remainder of his life with his family. Please continue to pray for Paul and his family.

Paul is not on line to read all these nice thoughts that everyone is posting.
I think it would really help him to know that we do miss him. You can send letters, cards, or pictures to him at his son's house in Minnesota :

Maybe towboat i hopes that right screen name, he always wonderfully writes of his adventures on pins. the past few stories have been adventures from behinds the dunes. My point is since he is such a great writer.... Maybe he could help write rabbits adventures, if he has extra time. It just a thought.
Again you sir will defently be in my thoughts. _________________ Live each day to the fullest |

Rabbit was the first guy we met out on the island when my fishing buddy and I were looking for some help where to fish. He told us where to fish and visited and drank a beer with us. A very nice and a solid member of the fishing community. He will be missed. Prayer sent in his behalf and family.
I belong the the CCCF site ran by a guy named Sam until he passed away with cancer. We put up a paque at Access #5 just south of SLP. We call it Sam's Beach. We still meet there in February and have a Chili cook off in his memory. |
