I finally made my way down to South Padre to try to find some big trout. I love fishing down there because it's the only place I can catch big trout ha. Well the morning wade got messed up. My reel decided to quit and I had not brought a spare(purchased one the next day). Also my buddies didn't have wade boots and were cutting up their feet. Saw one monster trout wading around though. Went and got them boots and borrowed a reel from my buddy and went again that afternoon. 20 minutes in I caught a 25 inch trout. My buddies reel messed up after that so I let him us the one I borrowed and went back n hung with the ladies on the beach. No more fish were caught. It was a blast though. A 25 incher was my goal for the year and I got it!

The guys

The reason I was willing to let my friend use the extra reel and wade back!

Great job!! Beautiful looking spec. With how colorful that one is as well as how vibrant the spots are, I would have had that one mounted or had a replica made of it.

Ya it was a gorgeous trout. A mount was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw him. I'm a little poor for that though ha my bank account quickly reminded me of that. I'll graduate college in a couple of months and maybe then I can think about mounts.

You can always take very good pics together with a tape measure and get all the measurements and then take that to a taxidermist and they can make the replica from that. Or put it in the deep freezer whole and with pics to show its true color so they can touch it up.
