The wife and daughter are leaving town Saturday morning at 8:30. This leaves me with 36 hours of nothing to do but fish. We have fished Packery, state park, north beach, Indian point pier and Oso/NAS on a regular basis. Any recommendations on where to go here or elsewhere for a guy on foot? _________________ Aggie 81'

You could always try Red Dot. This time of year the drum are making their way into the area. Start at the corner by the bait cleaning station and casting straight out and slightly to the left from the pier. Try to get it out as far as possible. _________________ Jacob McDonald

Same thing is happening at Marker 37 pier. Try to get some crab for bait. If the bait shops don't have any....try the shrimp boats by the Selena Statue dowtown. _________________ (( Living the life I was born to live.....

I always used 1 piece of crab fishbites and one piece of shrimp fishbites, both a different color. Thats all I used fishing for drum at Red Dot. _________________ Jacob McDonald

I wish I could help, but bank fishing is pretty tough this time of year, especially when the conditions are really nice. If I had to bank fish tomorrow I would go the the Port Aransas south jetty and target sheephead's. They are swarming the rocks right "NOW!" Go get a few and post up the pictures! |

Ended up going to NAS Oso bridge for a few hours Saturday afternoon. Caught two sand trout, 12 and 15 inches. Went to Indian Point Pier that evening around 8. There must have been 75-100 people out there. I counted over 30 on the end of the pier. Many left over next few hours. Few fish. We cleaned seven whiting so had ceviche for the game. _________________ Aggie 81'
