This was the kind of day I decide to go exploring and try new spots. It is not always productive, but once in a "Blue Moon" you will find that "Honey Hole." Well, I never found what I was looking for, but is was one epic day weather wise. Both Chris and I did catch a few keepers on our 10 hour tour. It was really slow in the morning as far as keepers go. By 12 noon I had caught 7 trout and one redfish. None of these were keepers. Chris on the other hand had only caught 2 specks, but both of his were nice sized keepers! That in itself was a shock to my system! We headed back to the dock at high noon and Chris heads to the Whataburger on North Beach for what turned out to be the best burger I have ever eaten. Of course they got my order completely wrong, but who cares. I never realized how good mustard could taste!

We ate our lunch, just slowly drifting away from the boat ramp. When I had finished my burger I fired the motor up and ran west until I ran out of water. The afternoon was a little better with Chris ending up with 4 keepers and I almost tied him with 3. One thing I did find today were a couple spots that could ruin your day. First pictured are two 2" diameter steel pipes just sticking about 2 inches just above the water. I imagine if you caught these two pipes just right with your boat you could rip two holes though your hull at the very least. Next is pictured what used to be the bow of a boat. The boat looked life a 16' Mako or Powercat and the stern is buried in the mud with the bow would be just below the surface at a regular tide. Today it was sticking a couple inches above the water. I can remember a few years back hitting something so hard it threw me to the deck. I was thankful no one was with me at the time. I went back around and could never find what I had hit. Only real damage was I had to buy a new prop, thankfully!

| Nice report, I remember when I lived in the Annaville area fishing the back bay and then going to Whataburger and I have to admit, that one is probably in the top 5 of Whataburgers. Whenever we find something that might ruin another's fishing trip we mark it with a Pvc and most peeps know to avoid markers, |

It appears to me they were cut off just below the waterline so no one would see them. These two pipes were in front of the first powerlines and I have ran through there 100's of times over the years and never seen them. I wonder how many times I have come close? |

| The sunk boat does have a small piece of PVC as you can see in the picture. This "Goon" was located about 3/4 mile east of the southern most river entrance into the bay. |
