I got some fun new toys this year!!! I got a 10' Pelican kayak and a arc/tig welder for home use! I hope to try both of them soon!!!

Now the question, what type of paddle should I get? I don't know anything about kayaks really but does they type of paddle really matter? Is this something I can pay a small price for and get away with it? Thank y'all! What new toys did y'all get???
Very Happy

Nice! The paddle will be one of the most important things to get quality in. You dont have to go and spend 200+ on a paddle, but dont get a cheapy for safety and quality reasons. A good paddle can be had from 50-100 bucks and trust me, you will thank yourself after a long paddle. Find one that is light and strong, and fits you good.

If you plan to paddle a lot, and far, the weight of the paddle is important. Carbon fiber is very light and very strong, but also the most expensive. Aquabound makes a great line of paddles. I have their Manta Ray model. Its a fantastic carbon fiber paddle for under 150 bucks.

Nice haul dude.

I bought Mama a Go Pro for my own selfish reasons and had the option for her to get me the 12' Pescador kayak from Academy but opted for the The Judge from Taurus instead for our mutual use and benefit.

If you do not already have a seat, try and spend as much money as you can and get the best seat you can afford. It will make your butt end very happy after a long day on the water.

Agree on the seat, rather a great seat over a great paddle. But my back is bad and my shoulders are good![/img]
