Condolences to the families that have injured or missing family members from this explosion.

Lets hope there is not a massive oil spill with this one.

Agreed, on the condolences for the families Crying or Very sad

But, this was a production rig and not an exploratory well. There has been a report of a spill, but the volume is "drops" compared to the big BP spill.

After being stationed in NOLA for over 4 years in the past, I can tell you stuff like this happens all the time down there. It has only really started to make headlines since Deep Water Horizon blew up. The sheer volume of rigs they have offshore is insane compared to what we have here.

But sierously... using a cutting torch for a line with any petroleum product in it or in the close proximity... not sure what they were expecting to happen. Rolling Eyes
