Hey all,

Fished with Steve (HeavyDuty) this past Thursday/Friday in Aransas Pass. We went to a couple locations that I don't remember except for Allyn's Bight. On Thursday plenty of undersized reds were caught along with a few keepers. We also got a couple of nice eatin size black drum, all caught on arties. A fat flounder around 18 inches ran up on me while wading and bolted when it got within rod reach. Drum on the halfshell was cooked for dinner that nite.

On Friday we went looking for mangrove snappies around the bay rigs but never found them. We did manage to land a few sheepies though, a couple of them were keepers. A couple more keeper reds were caught on bait near some cabin and duck blinds. HD and I planned on harvesting some oysters but everywhere we went we found they were extremely salty tasting. Toward the end of afternoon we found a low-tide lagoon that appeared to be full of stone crab homes. There were a bunch of platter sized oyster conglomerations with a tunnel in their center. I was able to coax out a couple of small stonies but never saw any big uns. Closed out the trip with some Los Comales (the La Bahia shrimp platter and Don Juanito fajita plate still rock).
