Did anyone have any damage from that most impressive storm last night? I wonder what the top wind speed was? It also had a spectacular lightning show, a little bit of hail, heavy rain.

I went outside to secure a screen door and an asp fell on my arm, would that be considered storm damage? Lol. Very Happy

The lighting was very impressive. Quite a show.

Pole and power line down along the causeway. I got stuck this morning in a few low-pressure pockets of the aftermath. Stiff winds and cold rain. Cut my morning kayak short.

Great light show on the island at the Geritol Mansion with my cousins from California and Washington. Not so good was the detour around the JFK as we headed home at 11:30 ended up back at 1:45 after a good wait at the ferry and the loop around.

Well, Im glad you guys didn't have too much damage. The Front gave us an 1 1/2" rain with high winds and hail here in Conroe. We lost power for a while, but it was restored in an hour and half. Then went out again for 30 minutes.

Two of us were actually fishing from our boat when the storm hit like WHAM! Actually, we were messin' about in a canal near the Padre Island condos. We could see the lightning a few miles off, but it never seemed to come to the ground. It was above the clouds only. Plus, it was moving in a direction toward the beach and not to us.

Checked the weather before we started. Nueces Cty was only one nearby without storm warnings. Yep, saw that about 7:30 PM. So we bought a quart of shrimp, caught some mullet, and launched.

Fish were biting, and we were catching as we watched the light show.

Well, it hit. Within 10 minutes we were battered by horribly high winds. We looked for safe harbor, and saw people taking their deck furniture in the house. We asked if we could secure to their dock and got an affirmative response.

We were invited inside until we decided if we wanted to wait or accept a ride to our car at the ramp. Very nice and wonderful hosts! I called my wife to say we were OK.

In less than 40 minutes, the waters were calm, and we could see stars through a veil of white clouds. We decided to make a break for it and were at the ramp very soon afterward.

Moral of this story: Don't believe the weather reports on TV. When weather looks suspicious after dark, get off the water. It's difficult to assess what's happening in the dark. Plus, I'm buying a VHF radio to receive live USCG weather warnings. Now all I have to do is find an open place on the console to mount it.

1 3/4 in at NASCC. Quarter size hail for a short time as well. Beauty of a storm as long as you were inside looking out.

I had an amazing view of the storm from about 30 miles down P.I.N.S that was the most electric storm I've ever seen, I loved every second of it. And the fishing wasn't bad either. Very Happy
