I ended up going fishin at the packery jetties this weekend (report coming soon), and I got a warning for not having a permit. I have one on my ford ranger, but I took my f-250 this time and totally forgot that I didn't have one for that truck. I got lucky this time, others might not be so lucky. It's better to spend the 12 bucks.

Well....this morning I ended up picking up one at the small Stripes on the right side off of SPID in the Island...and went fishing at the Packery Channel and sure enough...a patrol came crusiing by and stopped to talk to a few that did not have permits...not sure if he ticketed them or not.
Caught a big whitey....I think...and that's about it. Theere were a few guys that caught some good reds on both sides..

During my last fishing trip in mid-August, the official permit-checker truck pulled up to inspect us about 8 AM after we had been fishing all night.
I had a permit on my truck (and from the past two years that I haven't peeled off yet...) but my brother 's truck and three other trucks in our posse did not. He has us nailed. But he looked at my truck, waved at me, and went on about his business. I guess it pays to advertise that I always buy my permit.
I would not have let my bro live that one down if he had gotten a ticket. I am sure he will have his permit up by the time we make our next trip. That was too close...

And they typically have a tent on the beach at Zohn Rd as you enter the beach where you can get a sticker, if the tent is up! you can bet they are checking.

Do you all have a link of where a permit is required?

When we camped on the beach in Port A. for Labor Day a lady came by on a golf cart checking stickers. I asked her, What do you do if someone refuses to buy a sticker? She said we call the police and they get a ticket. So I'm guessing that the people that check the stickers don't actually give the tickets.

Ok....so....I bought a sticker about 2 weeks ago and placed it on the top left side of the driver side windshield.....but I notice that I have some tint there so it's a little hard to see...so I try to take if off to put it in another place and it comes apart when you try this....so I just leave it.
And so then I go fishing this morning to Packery Channel and sure enough...I get another warning on my truck....so I start to read the permit and it seems that it supposed to be put on the bottom of the passenger side windshield.....go figure.
Next time I will read the instructions...so now i have to get another one...oh well.
Oh...the fishing was good...I didn't catch anything big but one guy next to me caught a 40" drum on cut mullet...and another guy caught a 29" red on finger mullet. I had lots of good hits on cut mullet but nothing hooked....oh well...
