Ha bud, I'm from New Braunfels also. I fish those rigs all summer and my IPhone works to about the 12 mile mark. The sky's the limit out there. Troll ribbons for kings, drop frozen manhaden and get pretty much any snapper, drop live live piggys to the bottom and pick up Ling. live and dead shrimp will get you all the triggers and sheepshead you want also. Other then that jig anything shinny. Good luck _________________ Be polite to everyone but be ready to kill them in a moments notice. |

| Thanks for the information, I have gone to Port A for years but never fished any of the rigs you can see from the beach, are they all about the same? I will probably be heading out of Packery channel, and will not have a clue which way to go |

If it's been more then a couple of years since you've been to Port A, all of the rigs that were straight out of the jetties are gone. If you are leaving out of packery, go hit the close rigs right off of mustang island. I think the kayak guys call these the Mayan Princess rigs. Most of the time you can catch Ling, King, Snapper and sandys less then 5 miles offshore. Just remember the larger fish are off the rigs a little way. _________________ Be polite to everyone but be ready to kill them in a moments notice. |
