"Can't We All Just Get Along"???????????????????????

Probably stirring the pot more than it needs to be, but we have all seen/read/heard about the concerns the medical community has about contaminated fish/mercury poisoning.

I know they can take tissue simples from the various fish species and determine the amount of mercury or any other contaminent.

I do not recall seeing anything where tissue samples from humans have been collected to authenticate the actual long term effects of consuming fish.

I see the normal, "can cause" or "is not recommended" etc. etc. etc. Yet wec probably all know people that lived into their 80's and 90's, smoked every day of their life, but never came down with cancer.

I sort of view it the same as Global Warming, yes, there could be something to what is being stated, but how much actual proof is there?

My wife and I will be coming down to the coast for a couple of days toward the end of Sept., and since this is our first trip down there since 2009, ANY legal fish is going to get a one way trip to north Texas, mercury scare or not.

Hahaha! Your exactly right we all can voice our opinion.
But like it was stated voicing an opinion is one thing. Respectively that is. Repetively voicing it in essecnce to prove your right the other guy is wrong and bashing is bs..

And a judge huh? Yeah there's been tons of dumb poo poo hold up in court but I don't see that being one of them. For all you smart guys that know the law so well great for you. He never said how much he feeds his family or his daughter only himself. And I could be wrong here but if your actually correct. Man what would happen with parents who smoke around there kids?
Go shove fast food down there throats 7 days a week creating an outbreak of obesity which is def not healthy especially at a young age. I do not have the numbers but Im guessing those would be more adverse effects. Especially 2nd hand smoking. And considering I'm sure there's a lot more fast food eaten than fish loaded with mercury.

So kind sir why aren't all these people getting the same treatment?
I'm literally just curious at this point.
I'm not the smartest person nor am I very familiar with law but I must have missed the memo on how some people's logic adds up.

Think we all need to just stick to fishing and out of everyone's business jmo!

And this is the end of my opinions and comments I've had enough of stoking the fire so people can get keyboard happy and think there makin a difference including myself. Everyone stands up for there own beliefs and opinions only to be scolded by another mans beliefs and opinions.

I was told long, long ago that all fish carry their contaminants in the red meat just under their skin on their sides. Was I told wrong that if I removed all of the red meat I'd be able to eat more fish and it would be tastier?

Does nothing for removing the Mercury unless you count that you removed more meat, therefore you won't ingest whatever Mercury was contained in said removed meat (it is dispersed evenly so redder meat doesn't contain more\less Mercury than any other portion). I disagree partly with TopDog15 because I do remove the redder portions of meat and think the fish tastes better (my own personal opinion, not an attack on TD15), although again, not much with the Mercury. Here is a good article that explains decently Mercury in fish and human consumption.

I agree on taste. Was only commenting on the removal of Mercury.

Please do not eat any kingfish. They should all be immediately delivered to my smoker where I will smoke the mercury out.

It's my opinion, but if "they" did enough testing they would probably find that it is bad to breathe the air around you...then what?

Speaking of eggs, DrudgeReport had an article this past week that said that one egg a week was as bad for your arteries as smoking a pack a day. I guess I am going to die of egg clogged arteries since I don't smoke. Now, smoked eggs might be pretty good.

I have to admit that your last paragraph was finally something I agree with.

Your welcome. I'm up for the Saturday morning cartoon show if the price is right. Something in about the 6 or 7 figure range would be my base starting point.

I am half way through a Cohiba Siglo VI and my second glass of Glen morangie scotch whisky. You really think I'm worried about fish consumption?

Scotch whisky is good stuff...but I'm partial to anything...especially if you're buying!
