Finally getting down to Rockport. Its been a couple years since I've been there. Been to port A tho fishing since than. Just wondering how the fish been acting lately over that way. I don't have a boat but just wade a few walk in areas. Any tips or advice to slightly fill in the 2 year void is greatly appreciated. Gonna try and put my girlfriend on some decent fish. Just shoot me a PM if you want.

Thanks guys.

My friends and I were there this weekend. We spent most of our time along dead mans reef and found scattered fish along the deep drop offs. Although we tried live bait, all bait caught on artificials. Water was great with calm winds.

I was down there on Wednesday. My buddy and I launched kayaks by the pier at Goose Island SP. We caught tons of reds, but only a few keepers, biggest being 25". Also landed a good sized sheepshead, a few small trout, red drum, and more than enough hardheads (only takes one but we hooked about ten). It was really kind of nice not knowing what was being reeled in every time.

We paddled out about a mile and mainly fished off the shore of a little island. To be exact, we were due east of the park fishing at a small island just west of "east pocket" (labeled on Google Maps). Using dead shrimp in about a foot or three of water, we did decent. Heads up though....the water was infested with jellyfish. I bet there was one about every three feet. My buddy took a sting in a pretty sensitive spot. For karma's sake, I only laughed a little.

Good luck and be sure to post what you find!
