Is Roys still the place to get a spinning reel cleaned up and ready to go again or is there other choices ? Work at the base so anywhere from Annaville to the island is convenient for me.

Roy's does a good job and their prices are reasonable.

Roy's does a great job, usually a long turnaround time. You can also check out John Chaney, a retired machinist. Great work and usually ready the next day at more than a reasonable price. 1864 Tuloso Rd. 361-241-5126

I was going to drop my reel off at Roy's the other day but they were over 30 days out. So yeah there's a bit of a wait there.

Not sure if any of y'all have ever done this, but you can send the reel into the manufacturer and they will do the cleaning. Didn't feel like waiting on roy's one time and was too lazy to do it myself. Sent my curado into shimano and had it back a week later, and cheaper than I would have paid roy's too. Have done it with an Abu Revo also.

I prefer local, but sometimes that wait is just too long.
