Couldn't find the original post about the "poor customer service" at one of the car-washes in the 'Bluff [that shall go un-named] - who oh-by-the-way also sells bulk ice. The general consensus here was that the establishment in question was not worth our hard earned cash.
Well, having need for a bunch of bulk ice for a birthday party on Sunday, I made an extra effort to AVOID said establishment and use the one closer to SPID and was rewarded with not only more ice for the $$$, but also a nice little tune by Vanilla Ice (although a blatant rip-off of a Queen classic ) each time I made a purchase.
Thanks to whoever alerted the Board about the bad service - word travels both far and fast.

| i'll tell you a good one about ice and bad business. the gas station on cimarron and saratoga speedy stop i think. I pull in last year with my Fountain and drop 950.00 on 250 gallons of gas. walk in to buy my ice because they sell 20# for a 1.00 planned on buying 200-250# and was told that i could only buy 2 bags. I said after buying 950.00 in gas i can only get two bags of ice and the lady said yep i told her that wasn't to smart of business she told me IF YOU DON"T LIKE IT THEY SELLE GAS AND ICE AT OTHER PLACES so i told her to stick it up her well you know where. and left all of the food that we had got setting on the counter. never to return. |

I get ice there and they do have a 2 bag limit so poor schlepps like me who don't have a fountain can get ice too However I see your point _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

I like the ice tune also at the ice house next to Liquid Town in the Bluff. I agree you get more bang for the buck than the car wash down the road. Plus you walk right over and get something to mix with your ice if it's the right time of day. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

I'll pay the extra .25 to hear me some ice ice baby. Though ive been picking up my ice off of SPID also at 20lb for .99. The ice last longer imo and is cheaper. Got lucky and scored 6 memorial day weekend. Guess its the luck of the draw of who you get but doubt i could of got 250! |

Speedy Stop doesn't always have that limit though they do on holiday weekends and maybe summer weekends. I do know they run out of ice routinely and have Reddy Ice trucks dropping off more. I am sure at 99 cents it is a loss leader too _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Next time I'm in the area I'll stop by and ask them " So this is the store that a man purchased $950.00 dollars worth of fuel and ran him off because you wouldn't sell him more than 2 bags of ice?" You can't fix stupid!!!!

The reason I own kayaks and fish on rivers, lakes, the flats, and fairly close to shore when on the coast. _________________ Ray |

If he was coming to my store every month I would give him 2 bags of ice on the house. Unfortunatly I have no store and no ice...just free advise. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| Not sure what the problem is with the car wash up the road, all my dealings with the owners have been very pleasant. I use the place a dozen plus times a month and have never had a problem. The wash is better than any other in Corpus that I've been to. |

I freeze two liter bottles in my freezer for my fish icechest. I put 4 or 5 in my ice chest and fill about 1/3 with water. Keeps them nice and cold. I buy one 10lb bag of ice at Good and Crisp on the island for the drinks. It's cheap and works great. |
