| I checked that and could see little wave action but the color is hard to tell. I wondered about the sargassum as well. Hard to tell that on this cam. |

| Drove to the surf on mustang island yesterday and the weed was pretty bad, at least from fish pass jetties north anyways. Drove a few miles with no clearing so I went home. Oh and of course the morning report was "scattered weed, very fishable"..BS!! I think that SE wind has it coming back in. |

Water was very clear a couple hours ago off of white cap. One row, maybe two of 2 footers. Didn't see a whole lot of weed washing around, but I didn't get off the pavement at the turnaround, so I am not sure what was washing around up close in the wade gut. I did see a few mats coming in, so I am sure it is there. _________________

I was down to the 20 mm Saturday thru Monday morning, and we caught whiting, catfish and weed. Had a couple of good hits, but no joy. Tried dead mullet, shrimp, cut whiting, squid. Some good chomps on the mullet suggest that was the bait to use.
The seaweed did make fishing a chore at best, and really tough to deal with, it was not possible to set anything in the sand, and you can't feel the bite through the weed.
The beach was rough driving, I suppose some can do more than 15 mph, but 12-17 was enough for me for this condition. Watch out for a couple deep ruts around the 8 mm.
On the other hand, weather was great, wind slightly less each day, the vegetation liked the recent rains, and the stars are stunning. _________________ make it real |
