| How long do y'all generally give an unproductive spot before moving on? I find myself saying "five more casts", losing track of time and blowing half a day on a barren hole. |

Way too vague of a question. How much ice cold beer would you have in the ice chest??? _________________

| Full pack of smokes, sixer of Ol' Mils, mullet (horse to finger) everywhere, on some grass pocketed grassy flats next to a deep channel, shrimp jumping periodically, no bites other than pin perch eating the a$$ outta my shrimp beneath the popping cork. Fished about 100 square yds from 7 to 11. Nada. I know there are a lot of variables, just looking for a sort of rule of thumb. I switched it up every 40 mins or so. Topwaters, freelined croaker, shrimp, finger mullet and pin perch, gulps, plastics of every color. The place just seemed to 'fishy' to quit. Kept expexting it to turn on any minute, never did. |

What screws me up is when I finally declare it unproductive and leave only to come back a couple hours later and finish my limit in the same spot.....what do you call it then? A famous guide once told me fish travel on a set route and he explained that was why we were in them and suddenly out of them. They were just continuing on their route. Being the smart azz I am I said fine since you know all that take me to their next stop. _________________ Wish I Were in Baffin |

That's funny...if we only knew their destination though it would be called catching and not fishing _________________ Fish On! |
